On Sunday July 23rd, our beloved puppy Petunia injured herself by jumping from the back seat window of a moving car. While driving to her grandpa's, Petunia lept from the back seat window. She was caught by the halfway rolled up window and landed wrong in the street. Poor Petunia suffered a broken rear right leg and severe roah rash. Petunia was rushed to Emergency Veterinarian Service in Eden Prairie where she received immediate care; X-Rays determined she has broken her back right leg with a vertical fracture. Due to the angle of the fissure the veterinarian suggested surgery and for Petunia to stay the night. Petunia received surgery the next day to bolt her leg together and stayed an additional night for pain management. The veterinarian is encouraged that with Petunia's youth and resilience she will make a full recovery. Petunia's accident has already accrued $4800 in veterinary bills, with more long term treatment likely. We are asking for help because these bills come at a difficult time for Petunia's parents, with Sadie taking off work for her joint replacement surgery on August 2nd and Max paying off monthly dues for multiple student loans. Any amount is helpful and very appreciated. We love Petunia and hope to see her fully recover back to a joyful, little pitbull pup.
