Amazing Doggie Foster Needs Help

Christa is an amazing animal lover who has dedicated her life to fostering and caring for creatures of all shapes and sizes. For over 25 years she has taken on animals whom no one else would care for, including dogs with serious and terminal medical issues, and adopted a myriad of other animals including cats and sugar gliders. Her home is an animal haven borne out of generosity of spirit and a caretaker's heart. Now Christa needs help taking care of herself.
Christa had surgery in June to remove a growth on her tongue. The growth turned out to be cancerous, despite the fact that she has never smoked and rarely drinks. She required more surgery in August to remove additional cancer from her tongue along with her right jugular vein and numerous lymph nodes in her neck which were also found to be cancerous. She fought her way through all this maintaining a marvelous positive attitude and taking care of her animals, as has always been her way. This treatment required medical leave from her job since August, and so Christa is now on just partial salary. She was planning on returning to work right after the first of the year, but in late December additional scans found several nodules in her left lung which weren’t there a few months ago. This means more chemo, and that she won't be able to return to work. If the chemo works, doctors have given her 3-5 years. If the chemo does not work, she has 6-12 months.
As strong as Christa has always been, this latest news has been devastating for her. Worrying about the future for herself has now been made so much worse because of the financial situation she faces by not being able to return to work. Please help her with her bills, which are mounting, her medical costs and her daily expenses which of course continue. Christa has given SO MUCH to needy animals in her lifetime -- we are incredibly grateful to any animal lovers out there who will help take care of Christa!
UPDATE! Christa has been advised she is a candidate for immunotherapy. While this is not a guaranteed cure, people should know that she is eager to get back to work and this may allow her to do so in a few months while the immunotherapy continues. She will still, however, have the outstanding medical and day-to-day bills that have accumulated, and it is unclear how much of the immunotherapy treatment insurance will cover. Given this, please support Christa toward her goal as she works her hardest to improve her life expectancy and overall health!!!!
