<div>My husband, Patita Pavana dasa, is well known as an astrologer, author, journalist and servant of the Vaishnava community among the Society of devotees. He has been a faithful disciple of Shrila Prabhupada since his initiation in 1968. As many devotees are aware, he suddenly fell ill in March of this year, went into a coma and nearly died.

<div>Since he was released from the hospital, he has been gradually recovering. He is learning to walk again, and to regain physical movement. Fortunately, neither his mental nor spiritual state have been affected. If anything, the challenge has only strengthened his determination to serve Shrila Prabhupada and the Vaishnava community. Though bedridden for most of the day, he remains actively engaged in his service as a writer and consultant.

<div>Today our challenge is getting him back to physical health. To this end, the doctors are insisting that he requires bladder surgery. The estimated cost of the procedure will be around $10,000 here in Bulgaria. (Elsewhere it would be much more.)
