Peter's Transplant fund

I'm 53 living in Seattle. After 29 plus years of civil service as a Police Officer for the City of Mercer Island , Washington and six years as an Air Force Security Police Officer,  I was stricken with liver failure followed by kidney failure.  My outlook was grim but I pulled through.

       The illness cost me my career and love of my life, Policework.  The only treatment available to me to save my lif in the long run is dual organ transplant.

     I have followed a program here and am listed for transplant, however due to my very common blood type I am not competitive for transplants in Seattle. I have been told by this transplant program that I should look to other states for programs to be listed in.  

     I have identified 2-4 programs that I qualify for out of state and out of network for insurance purpose.  I can be transplanted much sooner in one of those programs versus my living "liverless in Seattle".

      I need economic support beyond what I have to cover the 40% pay loss I suffered becoming disabled, as well as to fund the travel and associated expenses in being evaluated and ultimately being transplanted in an out of state program.   My complete transplant will cost in excess of $600,000.00 which is roughly $400,000.00 above what insurance will pay.

     I hope to be transplanted, which is the only lifesaving and lif extending treatment that will help.  I plan on a "do over" in life if I am so blessed and hope to return to Public Service in some fashion to helps others.
