Peter's Road to Recovery

Peter Sasso is a man who would give you the shirt off of his back. He is a devoted father and husband and an outstanding son, brother, son-in-law, brother-in-law, uncle, and friend.
For those of you that may not know his story, Peter had a mild stroke in July 2017, which required surgery in September 2017. Complications during surgery resulted in a medically induced coma, and he then suffered a massive debilitating stroke. Now, Peter is paralyzed on the right side of his body. He also has aphasia, which affects his speech, and is unable to communicate his basic needs. His road to recovery is going to be long, and hard but Peter is a fighter! At just 57 years old, right now he needs us more than ever.
Peter has devoted the past 13 years of his life working for Helen Hayes Hospital, transporting patients back and forth to doctors' appointments, helping them to receive the care that they need.
Many people have been asking what they can do to help Peter. The best way to do this is to ensure that he will have all he needs to fight his way back to being the man we all know and love.
In addition to the person that Peter is, his wife Ellen Sasso has also been a devoted friend to the North Rockland community. She has devoted 15 years of her life as a Special Education teacher in the North Rockland school system. She is an inspiration to her students every day and shows them that they can do anything they set their mind to. She has also given her time and energy for years as a CYO basketball coach for St. Gregory's.
The goal is to get Peter home, back where he belongs. To do this he is going to need countless hours of medical care, nursing assistance, and therapy. On top of that, his family is going to have to move to accommodate his needs. Please help to transform the future for our friend. Let's help make this a reality for the Sasso Family and ease their stress during this difficult time. EVERY LITTLE BIT COUNTS!
