My name is Shannon Moroney. I am an author, therapist and advocate supporting dozens of survivors of accused serial rapist and sex trafficker, Peter Nygard, who is currently in detention awaiting trial in Toronto. There are several of us providing life-saving trauma therapy to survivors across North America and internationally.
Trauma therapy plus auxiliary supports such as physiotherapy for injuries costs $5-10K/survivor/year.
My goal is to raise $500K to be able to provide trauma therapy for Nygard survivors through 2022 and beyond, as well as to be able to offer additional support for their basic needs and educational goals.
Over 130 survivors (so far) have come forward to law enforcement across Canada, the USA, The Bahamas, and other countries. For the past 18 months, therapy has been made available to survivors through the generous support of a non-profit organization in The Bahamas, Our Sanctuary. On Dec 1, 2021, Our Sanctuary announced the sudden end to all funding for survivors outside of The Bahamas, effective December 31st. Despite all their efforts, they are simply unable to keep up with the demand.
