Peter Mouat is a battler

Donation protected
Peter Mouat is a battler.  Completely incapacitated by the final stages of Motor Neurone Disease (MND), Pete is now battling grief over the senseless loss of his beloved dog and companion, Dotty.

On March 5th, Peter was taking Dotty, a 13 year old small terrier for her usual walk in his neighborhood.  Unable to hold a lead or even to speak and give commands, Dotty had become accustomed to walking beside Peter’s motorized wheelchair and would follow faithfully on this daily ritual.  Only on this day, Dotty was brutally attacked by two dingoes, leaving Peter absolutely distraught and completely unable to intervene and save her.  Dotty died of her injuries in the animal hospital days later, leaving Peter out of pocket $5000 and completely bereft.

Peter Mouat is a proud man, he’d been a hard worker until the effects of MND forced him to stop working and, most importantly, he’s a genuinely good bloke.  He has reversed mortgaged his small Corio home to pay for carers at home, as his priority was to stay at home with Dotty rather then move into assisted living.  He is essentially too disabled to live alone, but his absolute love and dedication to his little dog drove him to sacrifice his own care needs in favour of them being able to continue to live together.  The $5000 that Peter has spent on medical and cremation expenses will cost him 100 hours of care at home.

Please help by donating.  More information on MND is available at www.mnd.asn.au
