Aid for Pete Kazunas

Donation protected
On November 30, 2017, Pete Kazunas of Parkside, PA suffered a debilitating fall from a roof he was repairing. Besides the broken bones, cuts and severe bruising, Pete is now paralyzed from the ankles down due to fractured nerves in his spine. There is much hope that Pete will someday walk again, but there will be an incredible amount of physical and occupational therapy involved, along with necessary medical devices which may not be covered by Medicaid.

Mr. Kazunas is a carpenter by trade and is a self-employed handyman. He often helps with maintenance work at the First United Methodist Church in Media, PA.  Pete and his long-time partner, Joan Henry, are very grateful for the help they've received in the past from the church community and are particularly thankful for the Media Food Bank.

Pete was recently transferred to Magee Rehabilitation Hospital in Philadelphia, where he will begin the therapies he needs to recover and hopefully walk again someday.  Pete is the sole provider and caretaker for Joan and their little companion dog, Hailey. Joan has recently suffered a series of family losses and struggles daily with the grief and depression the losses have left in their wake.

Pete and Joan need help with their rent and utility bills while they adjust to this new reality.
Pete will also help paying down his quickly mounting medical bills.

Every little bit helps to get these two through a very rough time in their lives.
Thank you for helping and sharing around the community!

On behalf of Pete and Joan, wishing you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
