My dad and stepmom, Pete and Joy Goubeaud lost their home and many possessions to fire on Friday, July 21st while traveling through Oregon. Many people have reached out with a desire to help monetarily. I'm setting up this gofundme account as another option for sending them financial help during this trying, stressful time.
This is directly from Joy's Facebook page, "Thank you everyone for your prayers and concerns. We need massive prayers. We are homeless at this point. We were living full-time in the RV and it and all the contents are destroyed. There are other complications and we are currently in a vacant & unsecured lot. Pete is staying in the car hauler trailer to protect the contents of the trailer, the car and the RV. We have a hotel room nearby and a car. Prayers are needed for a vehicle to pull the car hauler trailer and for a place to live. We will be here at least a week since the insurance company is not even sending an adjuster till next Thursday. We appreciate your offers of help and as we sort things out we will let you know what we need. Please continue to pray for our safety and our wisdom as we deal with this loss of our home. We are grateful for our safety and the safety of others & the surrounding businesses which could have been destroyed had the RV blown up. Many pedestrians saw the fire and called the fire department who came quickly so the fire did not get to the propane gas tank!! We do not know the cause of the fire. The diesel engine in the back of the RV caught on fire. We do not know if it was electrical or some other problem. The RV had been running well this trip and we had only gone a half a mile this morning and we were still in town when it caught fire. It's a mystery to us as to what happened.
