Petaluma Meditation Space

We are opening a space in Petaluma for meditation and mindfulness practices!

Although we've been blessed with wonderful rental spaces in Petaluma (Riverfront Fitness), we would love a new space for several reasons:

-To create a space that is dedicated to the cultivation of mindfulness, compassion, and wisdom
-To have the freedom to add new groups, class series, and daylongs
-To have a stable location where people can come to meditation, connect with the community, and practice together

We have a space that is financially viable with our donation-based model. Our intention is to continue our Tuesday night class and add a few new offerings like morning meditations, a women's group, a more in-depth study group of the Buddha's teachings, and a Refuge Recovery meeting.

We also will be bringing in some outside teachers to lead sessions on yoga, qigong, and other mindfulness-based practices.

As many of you know, we offer our groups on a donation basis so all may join regardless of financial situation. Although this may seem crazy in Sonoma County, it's always worked for us. Our community has been generous in supporting the groups.

We need help with a few things to create the right space for the community. A few things we plan on spending money on (in addition to regular rent, insurance, and utilities):
-Flooring (to replace old carpet)
-Cushions and mats
-Chairs
-A desk and cubby for shoes
-A few small things for the walls
-First and last month's rent

Our town is growing rapidly, and we need these practices and community now more than ever. With this space, we hope to offer a refuge for all those who wish to investigate practice.
