Basics for Varsity Girls Basketball

Perspectives Charter Schools is a network of middle and high schools that serves minority students in high poverty neighborhoods on Chicago's South Side.
This is our second year coaching Varsity Girls Basketball at Perspectives. We had a hugely succesful year last year going 9-1 in our conference, competing in top tier holiday tournaments on the North and South Sides of Chicago, and having a high overall team GPA with very few ineligbilities.
Our girls have bought into a disciplined system and in one year have dedicated themselves in a way that is inspiring for us and others at their school.
Our heart sinks when we go into opposing gyms without warm-ups or mismatched uniforms and gear and I see the embarrassment on our girls' faces. In spite of the circumstances they always persevere and play with discipline, class, and integrity.
We're building a program based on high expectations both athletically and academically. We want our girls to experience the pride we felt when we were in high school walking into an opposing gym. We want them to experience the comraderie and togetherness that being part of a team has to offer. We want to help them build themselves up so that in turn they can go into their communities and build those up around them.
With these funds, we intend to purchase:
8-12 Wilson Evolution Official Basketballs @ $60 each
10-15 Nike Basketball Packages (Travel Suits, Warm Ups, Team Shoes)
Miscellaneous Athletic supplies (Athletic tape, protective pads for elbows, knees, and ankles, practice jerseys)
Our basketball season starts at the end of October and we would love to have these items when the season begins.
