Personal Protective Equipment (PAPR)

Hello,
Most of you know me but I am and Neisha and I am an LPN working with Covid patients every day that I am at work. As numbers are increasing, so is the need for more PPE (personal protective equipment). I work extra when I can, but I am also a mom of 2 boys that are currently in traditional in-person school, and a student finishing my RN degree. We use PAPR’s on our unit as they are easier to work in and can easily be disinfected and reused. The problem is we do not have enough for all the staff to have one to use on each shift as the numbers rise. We sometimes must wait to go into a room until someone comes out of another room. It is put me at risk of going in without or get into our patients late. I am not one to want to make that decision. So am looking to get my own PAPR so that I know I will be able to respond to my patients when they call without delay of waiting for equipment.
I work extra to pay for school and make sure that my kids have what they need. I don’t want to ask for handouts, but I also know that this is not something that I can’t get on my own. So, I decided that I would create a page for anyone that would like to help me purchase this to have. That is one less stressor for me. The protection that this provides for me is more than just from Covid-19, it’s the peace of mind that I am at less of a chance to pick up the virus and bring it home to my boys.
I have a Goal of $2000 to cover the PAPR and extra battery and additional hoods. I am grateful to all for taking the time to read this. Please take precautions, wear your mask, avoid large crowds, and continue social distancing. This year has been like nothing most of us have ever had to encounter. But together we can make a difference in the outcome.
