My name is Samuel Otieno Orenda, I am the elder son in our family of two brothers and two sisters. I am married and I have one baby girl. We live in Western Kenya. I am a community permaculture leader and my mission is to bring permaculture fully to my community since we are a group of small farmers facing changing weather patterns, low investments and relative isolation. I started farming in the year 2014 and I have joined permaculture training that was hosted in our County of Homa Bay.
The concentration of our small community is "Transformative Learning". We like to work, learn and live together engaging in daily, weekly, and monthly reviews about our learnings and our transformation to a more sustainable community and as an example for others.
Now, I would like to raise funds to raise money to build a permaculture resource center and house for the volunteers so that we can have a room to teach the people and enhance the overall learning experience. The other rooms are going to be designated for volunteers who visit our permaculture project.
