Perla Pasayes Family Support

Our good friend and co-worker Perla rushed her brother to the hospital more than 3 weeks ago and has stayed vigilantly by his side as his condition initially improved, and then took a turn for the worse, leaving his life precariously in the balance for over two weeks.  He is improving a little bit every day now, and has moved out of the ICU, but still needs a lot of medical care and isn't expected to leave the hospital soon.  We are raising money to help her make ends meet during this time.  Perla’s family came here from Guatemala over 20 years ago and have worked incredibly hard to create a life here and become American citizens.  She is a very loving person who does everything she can to support her parents and brothers here, and her extended family in Guatemala.  She is the main caregiver for her brother, and it is likely that she will not be able to return to work in the near future.  If you know her, you know that she has a heart of gold, is an exceptionally promising student, and will go far in life.  Please help her during this time so that she can continue to stay in her home and help her family through this crisis.
