Please join Perkins Eastman in helping support HEART 9/11 (Healing Emergency Aid Response Team 9/11). This organization has a team of first responders - FDNY, NYPD, PAPD that continue to utilize their experience and training in service to others and to bring a message of hope to communities affected by disaster. HEART 9/11’s mission is to Respond immediately to natural and man-made disasters; Rebuild community centers in hard-hit areas to meet grass roots needs; Recover by building resiliency for individuals, families and communities.
Please also continue to support local initiatives. Donations to this site may also be used to support families of our staff in affected areas.
This is our short term response to the recent disasters, but these recent events have made in clear to us that we need to be able to mobilize more quickly and to not just donate money and goods, but to donate our skills and expertise. A group has been formed to develop a plan that will allow us to quickly respond; This may involve employees having training to assess damaged buildings, assembling and flying a team to the disaster area, or assessing damages in our communities.
During the 2016 Ecuador Earthquake mission, we joined together with Heart 911 for a post disaster response team in Ecuador. A few months after the Ecuador disaster we helped them in a follow up mission to rebuild homes. Heart 911 returned with 23 members to build 50 prefabricated homes in 5 days.
