Percidas Push towards recovery
As many of you may know (and those that don’t) my mother Percida Ignacio has been admitted to the hospital as of a month ago. It all started with pains, nausea and vomiting. Which we all already knew were concerns when she was the one who asked to be taken in and seen. Percida has been the rock of our family for many years and has always been seen and known for how strong, caring and loving she is. Things quickly turned and stumbled as her health became an ultimate race against her body and her infections. She was quickly deteriorating and no one knew exactly what was going on but our faith in God held us all together. Many of us were left with a ton of questions and concerns but at the moment the only thing that mattered was the doctors getting her stable and strong enough to run some tests. With everyone’s thoughts, prayers, and love sent our way, the doctors were able to figure out what was going on and have been doing the best they can to treat her. We’ve had good days and others a little tougher. Percida had been on a ventilator to help with breathing for quite some time that the doctors felt it necessary to perform a tracheotomy (which involves creating an opening in the neck In order to place a tube into her windpipe.) This decision was crucial so she didn’t constantly have to be intubated each time she needed support to breathe, which started more complications on its own. As of today June 25th, 2020 Percida had been moved to PCU instead of the ICU which by the grace of God we are grateful for. These are baby steps compared to what she has in store for her. We, as a family have decided to make this go fund me to help lift the financial burden we are currently facing as well as the medical expenses that have accumulated and will continue to for quite some time. Doctors anticipate that my mom will need extensive care at another hospital, then to a rehabilitation center in order to keep thriving to become as healthy as she once was. Many medical bills and copays for those places will not be covered by her insurance and is why we are reaching out to family, friends, and anyone out there that is able to lend a helping hand during this difficult time. Percida has 4 daughters and an abundance amount of grandchildren and great grandchildren whom have come together and have been doing what they can, as best they can. We all miss her tremendously, and are praying that God will allow us to enjoy her longer and that she will become even stronger the she already was. With that being said, Prayers and thoughts from all over have held us all up and have gone a tremendously long way so if you aren’t able to donate at this time we understand and want to thank you all for taking time out of your day to read this and/or send a prayer our way!
