Hundreds of families are suffering through a catastrophic disaster in this moment in my country Honduras. Hurricane Eta crossed the country flooding and destroying entire cities like my home town of San Pedro Sula. Thousands of people are still waiting to be rescued on the roof of their houses without food or water, even little kids, old people and pets are hoping for a miracle. The rescue teams are not enough and people are getting dehydrated and they are hungry.

On the other hand, the people that managed to escape their houses are in need of everything: food, clothing, water, and all the essentials. There are people crying on the street looking for their missing children or other family members. The situation is so bad that is hard to explain the extent of the chaos through text.

Last night, thousands of families could be heard screaming for help in the darkness, but rescuers could not do much with the lack of adequate equipment and high, quick moving waters.

Just look around you at this exact moment. Look at your family members and all the effort that you have made to own everything you have in your life. Try to think for a moment how hard it would be to be in a situation like what the good people of Honduras are living through right now. That even if you were able to escape to safety, you have still lost your home and everything in it. Keep in mind, in Honduras, there is no insurance plan to help you rebuild.
