Paige is a 3 year old whippet from Canada. She's a beautiful, full of love, and lives with her parents and her brother/litter mate.
On February 7, 2019, two weeks into a vacation to Florida from Canada, Paige suddenly became sick. With a fever of 105 degrees, she was taken to the vet. She was not responding to the broad spectrum antibiotics and the vet was stumped. She was taken to the veterinary college in Florida for further diagnosis. After two days, her fever broke and she began to respond to antibiotic treatment with IV fluids.
Paige is still not well, but there is hope for a recovery. She was diagnosed with a massive UTI infection, but it is unknown if there are additional causes to her symptoms.
Treatment has not come cheap, at a cost of approximately $1,000 per day USD. Testing and treatments has already reached approximately $5,000 USD and more treatment will be required. There is hope for Paige. No matter what, her owners want to do what is best for her. Having hope and seeing her respond to treatment means that they will not give up on her. If she's fighting, they will pay for her to try. Any amount will help. Her owners are retired, but are not ready to see this young, beautiful girl leave without giving her the chance she deserves.
