Penguin's For Ashley

Ashley is an 8 year old girl whose obsessions include monster high and penguins. Ashley was in an accident on 11/25/14 that severely burned 45% of her body. She was taken from our local hospital by jet to Joseph M. Still Burn Center in Augusta, Georgia (the best burn center in the United States and the 3rd best in the world). As of now Ashley is in critical condition and on a ventilator while in a medically induced coma because of the massive amount of pain she would experience if awake. She will have many surgeries before they will be able to wake up. The majority of her burns are 3rd degree which will mean for Ashley when leaving she will face a lifetime of surgeries including multiple skin grafts.

Ashley will also need special equipment when coming home like burn compression suits and face mask to be sure that she scars and heals correctly. As well has multiple reconstruction surgery on her chest and hands that are considered by insurance companies to be "cosmetic". These things are a long way out from where we are now with Ashley's treatment, but they're also not covered by insurance and the cost is in the upward hundred thousands.
