Jodie's Jiggley Piggley Rescue Farm has been housing and rehoming guinea pigs for the past 14 years! To be honest, we've lost track of how many hundreds of guinea pigs have come, and gone to better lives, over the years.
We do very little fund raising at the Jiggley Piggley Farm. Most of our expenses, such as vets and fresh feed, are covered by the sale of hay and bedding, as well as boarding and grooming services offered to our many wonderful clients.
We do appreciate, and accept donations, but do not often actively solicite them.
Our one biggest expense is guinea pig pellet food. We feed approximately 10 lbs of pellet food weekly. The past three years have been completely covered by three generous donors. Sadly, we are down to our last two bags.
Although it doesn't seem like alot, this weekly expense of pellet food weighs heavily on the viability of our rescue. I have managed to find ways to pay for almost everything without asking for help, but this will again become a weekly neccessity.
I've decided a GoFundMe Campaign may be just what I need to solve this problem.
Our hope is to purchase a one year's supply - 52 10lb bags at aproximately25.00 tax included each. A total of about $1300.00.
EVERY single cent raised here will be used to feed our guinea pigs a balanced pellet food over the next year.
This would be a tremendous weight off our shoulders, as we continue to house, and care for abandoned guinea pigs, while they wait for new families.
