Peggy's Insurance Fund

As some of you may know over the past year my mom, Peggy, went through a series of health issues (some nearly fatal) that lead to a diagnosis of stage 4 Lymphoma. After just three chemo treatments she was told she is cancer free. Truly a blessing! She has to finish her treatments to confirm the remission. She is unable to work to due to the treatments making her extremely ill. She is on long-term disability, earning only a portion of her wages. Her last treatment is in February, yay! However, in order to return to her physically demanding job at UPS she also needs a double knee replacement. She was told she can have the knee replacement 6 weeks after her last chemo treatment. Then she will be laid up for a few months recovering. She is eager to return to work but has a few obstacles to overcome first. I started this campaign in an effort to help raise money to cover her insurance costs. Her treatments and knee surgery are very expensive so she needs to keep her current coverage, as it will cover her procedures well. However, because she is not working and is past FMLA requirements for keeping insurance she has been given the option to purchase COBRA insurance. This is also VERY expensive ($340 per week) and stretches far beyond her already reduced income. I am asking if you can help in anyway, with any amount, to help cover my mom’s insurance cost until she can return to work. This past year my mom has shown incredible strength, hope, and faith! She continues to shine her bright light and pour into other’s lives even when she hasn’t been well! We all know how kind and caring of a person she is!
