I wanted to let everyone know I will be leaving for the Eugemot
Orphanage on Saturday, November 23rd to spend a week in the West African villages of Koloenu and HoHoe, Ghana visiting the students of the Peggy Good School of Hope. This year
I will be traveling with Mr. Mike Lind from Mr. Juliet, TN. Mike and I will be clearing approximately 10 acres on the school property for farming. We are working with officials at the HoHoe District Office in order to rent a bulldozer. The bulldozer will cost ~$250 (US) / day, plus fuel and some operator expenses. We estimate at least 3 days of work required in order to prepare this tract for plowing. If you are in a position to help, I would welcome any donations toward this worthwhile effort. I will be happy to keep everyone informed of progress made when I return.
In addition, Mr. Lind and I will be checking on two dormitories that are under construction in an effort to co-locate the orphanage on the same property with the school. Our partners in England recently spent 5 days plastering walls and finishing floors. They also made it possible for students at the Peggy Good School of Hope to start using two new classrooms located behind the original building which was dedicated in May of 2011. This brings us closer to moving the orphanage as well as increases the total number of classrooms to 8. This is terrific news! We are extremely excited and grateful.
It remains our desire for this school to be one of the finer facilities in the Volta Region of Ghana. Please consider making a donation to support this cause. The school now provides educational opportunities for over 150 students and we continue to grow.
