I once wanted to open my original musical at the Fringe Festival in Edinburgh. Then I was getting older, travel & set up was becoming more expensive. Now I am at home with my computer, my solitude, my script, my original music, love of music from the Bach fugues to the BeeGees, wondering if I shouldn't just convert my plans into a video. I love Charlie Chaplin, so my idea is to scan & convert my drawings & photos into B&W, then add the script in written form, combined with audio overlay. I will need to hire an audio wizard later on, & sound system, midi & electronic piano for compositions, two or three warm bodied actor friends for the readers theatre, & a new larger, snazzier Android tablet to download apps.
I am a vintage model human being, Irish-Scottish-German by design, heterosexual female, independent by nature, strong & healthy gene pool. I guess we are supposed to state all those things for full disclosure. I will be combining music of the era of the story (70's), my original libretto, along with ballet scores & classical voices (opera, strings). I view this as a piece of personal history with no agenda, no grievance, just my story of dreams, the arts, heartbreak, money & results. I do not claim moral superiority or methods of solving life injustices. This is happy-sad, coming of age in the 1970's California/NYC tale. It is true I did convert to Catholicism during several decades, but that is not the focus, just a glimpse, I do not preach at anyone or lecture to my audience. There are references to what is meant by "the calling" in religious circles. BrandingByPeg.com is my website with links to my music & script but I will gladly forward either upon request, noting there will be editing of course. There are parts of my story that are quite funny.
Please enjoy participating & with your support, financial or otherwise, we will become friends. Thank you, I am deeply grateful for whatever you feel happy to provide me to work on this project. I have a link to my original music I recorded in a 16 track studio in 1980. I have been working on various aspects of this, ballet lessons beginning at age three years, singing in classical choral groups, attending events at Lincoln Center, or how about calling it living life, for over 60 years, so the only deadline is my life, which at this time I expect to live until I am 107, like my great auntie Margaret. In other words, no pressure... https://www.jango.com/music/Miss+Placed
It seems like now that I am quarantined in my home in the Redwoods of northern California, confronted with my own self & creative projects, that now is the hour. Shakespeare wrote KING LEAR while in quarantine from the plague, so with this as inspiration, I want to pursue getting this organized.
I do believe everyone has a story, including me. God bless you.
