The Cuban community has suffered a great loss and needs your help. Pedro Imbert set his fears aside and left his native Cuba to give his family a better future. He was a dedicated husband and father who fought for his life and his family until his body couldn't go on.
In January 2016, he underwent a routine procedure in Louisville, KY which was complicated when his intestines were ruptured and ended up being exposed for a year! The amazing staff in the Cleveland Clinic worked tirelessly to heal him. Pedro's wife, Lucia, never left his side, sleeping in a chair beside him every single night.
Ultimately, a year and a half of hospitalizations, surgeries and countless procedures took their toll on Pedro's heart. He passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Father's Day.
The family has spent all their savings from 20 years, supporting and nursing him back to health (6 months in the ICU, 10 major surgeries, 10+ heart caths, the list goes on and on). They're now left with the emptiness, heartache, and a mountain of medical and funeral expenses. Any amount of help will go a long way and be very appreciated.

En enero de 2016, se sometió a un procedimiento de rutina en Louisville, Kentucky, que se complicó cuando sus intestinos se rompieron y terminaron expuestos durante un año! El increíble equipo de la Cleveland Clinic trabajó incansablemente para curarlo. La esposa de Pedro, Lucía, nunca se alejó de su lado, durmiendo en una silla junto a él cada noche.
Desafortunadamente, un año y medio de hospitalizaciones, cirugías e innumerables procedimientos fueron demasiado para su corazón. Pedro falleció pacíficamente rodeado por su familia en el Día de los Padres.
La familia ha gastado todos sus ahorros de más de 20 años, apoyándolo y cuidándolo (6 meses en cuidados intensivos, 10 cirugías mayores, 10+ caterizaciones del corazón, la lista sigue y sigue). Ahora se quedan con el vacío, la angustia y una montaña de gastos médicos y funerarios. Cualquier cantidad ayudaria muchísimo y será muy apreciado.
