Pedestrian/Cycle Access to the Grand Union Canal
Donation protected
Access to the Grand Union Canal from the A425 near Radford Semele for pedestrians, cyclists, wheelchair users and buggies is a step nearer and you or your business can play your part by raising funds towards building it.
A strip of land has been bought and fenced off by the Canal and River Trust thanks to collaborative working by village environmental group, FoRGE and the landowner, and plans have been drawn up.
Local businesses and benefactors can donate here. FoRGe also intends to use some of the funds raised by its plant sales and kind donations.
Around £60,000 is needed, but this won’t all come from the village and its businesses – grants will be available.
It’s hoped that the entrance will be open by the time Leamington acts as a host for the Bowls section of the Commonwealth Games in 2022.
