<div>Wir sind Xenia (35) &amp; Joscha (34) und seit August 2022 radeln wir von Berlin nach Thailand für den Tierschutz. Wir haben weder eine fixe Route, noch Ahnung von Fahrrädern... und trainiert hatten wir dafür auch nicht. Doch das macht nichts, denn wir sind hungrig nach Abenteuern, haben ein großes ❤️ für Tiere und eine gute Portion Optimismus mit im Gepäck. Wir haben unsere sicheren Jobs gekündigt und das Projekt Pedal for Paws initiiert.

<div><strong>Warum tun wir uns das an?</strong>
</div>
<div>Es ist eine persönliche Herausforderung und etwas, das größer ist als wir selbst. In Südostasien führt die Straßentier-Überpopulation und der illegale Hundefleischhandel zu großem Tierleid und + 10.000 Menschen sterben pro Jahr durch Tollwutübertragungen von Straßentieren ☠️.

<div>Nach über 22.250 km, 29 Ländern und 4 Jahre auf dem Rad, haben wir einiges erlebt. Unser Spendenziel haben wir erreicht, aber in Phuket bei der Soi Dog Foundation sind wir noch nicht angekommen. Solange hören wir nicht auf, auf das Thema aufmerksam zu machen und alles in Bewegung zu setzen, um den Tieren zu helfen.

<div>Soi Dog`s Arbeit für den Schutz von Tieren begeistert uns seit Jahren. Nachdem wir selbst vor Ort gewesen sind, wollen wir nun die Ausrüstung für eine mobile Einheit finanzieren, welche sich um die medizinische Versorgung der Tiere kümmert und strukturiert gegen die Verbreitung von Straßentierpopulationen vorgeht.

<div>We are Xenia (35) &amp; Joscha (34), and since August 2022, we have been cycling from Berlin to Thailand for animal welfare. We have neither a fixed route nor any idea about bicycles... and we haven't trained for it either. But that doesn't matter because we are hungry for an adventure, have a huge ♥️ for animals and a good portion of optimism in our luggage. We quit our secure jobs and initiated the project Pedal for Paws.

<div><strong>Why do we do this?</strong>
</div>
<div>It is a personal challenge and something bigger than ourselves. In Southeast Asia, the street animal overpopulation and the illegal dog meat trade lead to great animal suffering and + 10,000 people die every year due to rabies transmission from street animals ☠️.

<div><strong>On our trip we want to raise $ 30,000 for our partner organisation <a href="https://www.soidog.org/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Soi Dog Foundation (Thailand)</a>. </strong>

We have reached our fundraising target, but we have not yet arrived at the Soi Dog Foundation in Phuket. We will continue to raise awareness of the issue and do everything we can to help the animals until our arrival.

Having witnessed their incredible work on the ground, we now want to fund equipment for a mobile unit that will take structured action against the spread of street animal populations and provide medical care for the animals.
