Pedalando pelos refugiados, Riding for refugees
Olá, somos 3 mulheres, a representar 3 países diferentes; Carys (Reino Unido), Kristina (Qatar) and Sara (Portugal). Estamos unidas pela vontade em ajudar refugiados extremamente vulneráveis, especialmente após a pandemia global COVID-19. Assumimos o enorme desafio de percorrer 1000Km de bicicleta pela costa de Portugal com o objetivo de angariar fundos para esta trabalho vital. O nosso objectivo é angariar 1€ por Km.
Escolhemos uma instituição de caridade que faz um trabalho incrível neste campo, gerido por refugiados para refugiados, chamada União de Refugiados em Portugal (UREP).
A UREP tem por objetivo o apoio aos refugiados através da mediação intercultural de forma a garantir a sua plena integração, providenciando o acesso a meios de inclusão social que os dignifiquem em harmonia com a legalidade, acreditando na unidade e no trabalho interdisciplinar como resposta aos desafios, que exigem um acompanhamento direto para solucionar os problemas sociais e obstáculos que as barreiras quotidianas apresentam.

Hi, we are 3 women representing 3 different countries; Carys (United Kingdom), Kristina (Qatar) and Sara (Portugal). We are united in our passion to help refugees who are extremely vulnerable, especially in the wake of the global COVID-19 pandemic. We have taken on a huge challenge of riding 1000Km across the whole coast of Portugal in order to raise funds for this vital work. It's our target to raise 1€ per Km.
We have chosen a wonderful charity who does an amazing job in this field which is run by refugees for refugees, called Union of Refugees in Portugal (UREP).
UREP aims to support refugees through intercultural mediation in order to ensure their full integration, providing access to means of social inclusion that dignify them in harmony with the law, believing in unity and interdisciplinary work as an answer to the challenges, which demand direct action to solve social problems and obstacles that the daily barriers present.
