Campaign Ended

Thank you to all those who made a donation.  If you like to learn more about how to assist please contact IFPTE Local 121 at P.O. Box 786, Aiea, Hawaii 96701.

On December 4, 2019, a senseless shooting took place at the Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard.

The International Federation of Professional and Technical Engineers  (IFPTE) and the Metal Trades Union Department of the AFL-CIO, are deeply saddened and heartbroken by the loss of IFPTE members Vincent Kapoi Jr. and Roldan Agustin.  IFPTE member Roger Nakamine was seriously injured.  Our hearts and prayers go out to the families who are impacted by this violence, and to our Sisters and Brothers at IFPTE Local 121 also affected by this tragedy.

These three individuals are dedicated IFPTE union members and hard-working public servants, who go to work each day to serve the taxpayers and our military forces.  They are reflective of the thousands of workers at Pearl Harbor and elsewhere, that go to work to earn a living and serve their nation.

To provide financial assistance for the three families impacted by this horrific event and the hardship they are enduring, we have set up this donation campaign.  We encourage our friends, families, and the labor community to donate to assist these families.  The funds collected will be split equally and go directly to the three families.

If you and/or your organization would like to make a check donation instead of using a credit card or PayPal through the GoFundMe system, please make your check payable to “IFPTE” and include on the memo line, “Local 121 Victim Fund.”  Please forward your check to: IFPTE 501 3rd Street, NW, Suite 701, Washington, DC 20001.

Federal workers are the backbone of our country.  They deserve to be safe at work.  No worker should have to go to work without the expectation of safely returning to their family and loved ones.  Please make a donation to support these families.

The International Federation of Professional and Technical Engineers (IFPTE), representing 90,000 workers in the federal, public and private sectors, including over 2,000 federal employees who work at the Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard (PHNS) and Intermediate Maintenance Facility (IMF).  The Metal Trades Department is a trade department of the AFL-CIO, which coordinates negotiating, organizing and legislative efforts of affiliated metalworking, related crafts and trade unions, such as IFPTE.  The Hawaii Federal Employees Metal Trades Council represents 5,000 workers at the Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard.

*Please note that these donations are personal gifts and are not tax-deductible contributions to a registered charity.  The funds collected will go to the three families directly impacted by this violence.
