Pear-aphernalia Needs your help

In 2013, when we re-opened Pear-aphernalia Inc, a local shop offering affordable gifts and home accessories, we had no idea the community relationships that would develop. We started to notice the business wasn’t only about selling items as much as people middle-aged and older would come in and socialize. We learned about people’s families, graduations, weddings and grandchildren. We shared laughter, happiness and their grief on the loss of loved ones.

People have told us that coming in to the store” brings them joy”, their “happy place”, their “go-to” store and “it must be nice to work in such a beautiful environment”.  People tell us they can buy an item that is the perfect accent for a room, or gift that they are proud to present to someone.  We miss our customers and their stories.

Pear-aphernalia actively supports our community whether holiday decorating for our local theater, baskets or gift certificates for school and church fundraisers, support for Holiday Home Tours, and other select charities.
 
We may not be considered an “essential business” but we believe we are essential to small town community survival.

Actions taken to prevent Covoid-19 has changed all of our lives and now has Pear-aphernalia in jeopardy of opening & staying in business.  We have applied for funds to support small business, so far, to no avail.
While sheltering in place, we need to ensure that Pear-aphernalia can continue to cover its operating expenses (rent, utilities, insurance, etc) so that we can successfully reopen on the other side of this pandemic
