Peaceful Provisions Finally Found a Storefront!

Donation protected

After 5 ½ years of offering our doughnuts and baked goods at markets, via wholesale, as a part-time pop-up shop and currently for preorder pickup, we’ve finally found ourselves a brick and mortar location!

Throughout our 5 ½ years of business, we've worked out of shared commercial kitchens. With each kitchen space, we’ve inevitably reached a point where we could no longer sustainably produce enough to meet demand. Even with the larger shared production space we operate out of now, we quickly found ourselves (yet again) capping our production. With two other growing businesses also utilizing the shared kitchen, it started to become difficult meeting our sales targets while working around their schedules. COVID-19 made matters worse as we had to reduce our already insufficient capacity further to avoid overlapping with other vendors when larger amounts of their staff were present.

We had been searching for years to find a production space that met our specific needs while also struggling to keep our business as sustainable as possible with the kitchen limitations we were facing. There were a few highly probable options that came our way, but we sadly lost the opportunities to other businesses who were also pursuing the spaces. After many years of not feeling secure in production spaces and constantly searching and pursuing production spaces only to have them slip through our hands, we’ve finally found a location of our own. Now we can expand Peaceful Provisions and work towards reaching our maximum potential.

Currently, we're in the process of finalizing a 5-year lease at 383 Main Street in Beacon, NY. We'll be using private funds to secure the space (rent, security deposit, broker fee and attorney fee) and obtained a Kiva loan to help purchase the existing equipment in the space from the former tenant.

We anticipate our remaining costs to be about 60K, which includes insurance, permit fees, interior improvements (remodeling, plumbing updates, electrical updates and furnishing), additional equipment and start-up inventory. We are trying to raise 15K or as much as we possibly can. We  also plan to have weekly fundraising raffles and eventually fundraising bake sales to help raise additional funds.

By leasing 383 Main Street in Beacon, NY, we can:
-Operate on a full time basis
-Open 4-5 days a week for walk-in purchases (no more having to preorder through our website to get our goods! )
-Have more fun and routine collaborations with other local businesses
-Have an expanded menu with more classic flavors, as well as, new and exciting ones! (See some pictures of our creations below)
-Expand our wholesale accounts to include a variety of local businesses throughout Westchester County and NYC
-Offer a small savory menu (soups, salads, sandwiches and specials)
-Be a preorder pickup location for other vegan businesses
-Have a small marketplace within the shop where you can purchase hard to find vegan products from local businesses such as artisan cheeses, meat alternatives, snacks, condiments, groceries and more.

We want to thank each and every one of you who have supported us throughout the years so that we can even get to this point. We’re beyond grateful to be able to serve you and are excited at the opportunity to serve at a greater capacity. We understand it is a strange and challenging time for most, but if you have the means to help us grow, please consider donating or sharing. Any amount, no matter how small, helps. Thank you!
