Peace of Mind for Chuckles

Donation protected
On Sunday July 28th, at 2am a drunk driver side swiped a Rockford Ambulance in Ada township after they delivered a patient to the hospital. The ambulance was turned end over end, and side over side until it came to rest in the ditch in some trees. The EMT whom was a passenger manage to get out and flag down help. The EMT driver, Chuck Premer, was pinned inside and couldn’t get out due to his seat belt, injuries, and a tree blocking his way. Once help arrived it took over an hour to get Chuck out of the ambulance and his seat belt and off to the hospital.

While his injuries aren’t life threatening, he does suffer from MANY bruises, cuts, and scrapes, as well as a fracture at his ankle that will require further treatment and possibly surgery. He is okay, joking in his usual manner and reassuring his friends, family, and his wife Michelle Premer that “I’m fine; might go jogging later”.

However due to the nature of his injuries and the time that it will take to heal, Chuck won’t be able to “get up and jog” back to work. As he is the main income of the house, this has put a mental and financial strain on both Chuck and Michelle. Though some things will be covered, there are other expenses (like house, food, etc) and bills that have to be dealt with while Chuck is recovering.

Michelle and Chuck are grateful for anything you can give, and while they love food and would appreciate any amount you could bake or cook, their freezer isn’t that large to accommodate all that their friends and family could make and give them. They ask that if you want to help possible gift cards to grocery stores, TSC, or anything else is greatly appreciated.

As of Monday, July 29, 2019, Chuck has been moved to Mary Free Bed Rehab to get the swelling down in his ankle so he can be evaluated for surgery on it. They hope that soon after that he can come home. But as stated before this means that the main income of the home has stopped until the financials get worked out with his workers comp. And who knows how long that could be! The situation isn’t dire, but it would be one less thing that they [Chuck and Michelle] have to worry about.
