My little sister, Dakota is the inspiration for Peace-ing Together the Puzzle. She was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder when she was 4 and our lives have changed so much ever since. At that time she was nonverbal, and became increasingly frustrated when people couldn't understand her needs and wants. It was then that we found Great Start Thearapy.
Through the guidence and love of therapists such as, Melanie Krevitz, Dakota has been able to not only find her voice, but also the confidence to begin to navigate her world.
However, having a family member on the spectrum can be very cumbersome because not all of those services are covered in full by insurence. Recognizing that not all families have health insurance, not all kids are able to afford the services that they need. This is why we have created Peace-ing Together the Puzzle.
Peace-ing Together the Puzzle is a fundraiser that helps families who cannot afford to get their children with Autism, the services they need to thrive. We are partnering with the therapists at Great Start Therapy to alleviate some of the overbearing cost. With your help, it is our personal goal to help as many of Great Start's patients as possible, so as to lesson the burden of paying for therapy.
If you donate $25 or more, you will receive a Peace-ing Together the Puzzle sticker as a gift of our gratitude. The other rewards include: With a donation of $50 or more, you will receive a Peace-ing Together the Puzzle magnet; For $100 you will receive 4 cards (each one themed per season) with our logo and something to represent the season on them; For a donation of $200, I will create a handmade canvas painting with our logo for you; For a donation of $500, you will receive a pendent necklace in the shape of a puzzle piece with a peace sign inside it; and finally, if you are able to donate $1000 to this wonderful cause, you will receive a handmade wooden carving.
