I want to thank all our family, friends, co-workers, TKE fraternity and anonymous donors for their compassion, love and generosity. Without your help and support, we could not have achieved our goal! I plan to keep the campaign open for a few weeks longer to enable any additional donations for Chase in his fight with with cancer. Here is a photo of thanks from both of us! God Bess
My brother, Chase, is 68 years old and has been fighting Stage 4 esophageal cancer for aproximately 2 years. His surgery consisted of removing the tumor and reconstructing the entrance of the esopagus into the stomach and making sure sphincter was operating correctly and during his surgery he suffered a heart attack. My brother and I have just reconnected about 8 months ago through his wife. This was the first time I learned of his cancer and that his battle with this nasty disease is coming to a close. We speak every Sunday if he is able. His medical expenses and monthly prescription medicines has drained all their savings. He and his wife have sold everything of any value including her wedding rings to help ends meet. They are living off his social security and each month after paying the necessary bills they run short and they have had to borrow money for food. I just learned from Chase he does not have enough money to cover his cremation. For the basic cremation it will cost $3,000, which he does not have. For so many reasons, I don't want my brother to worry about where or how his body will be disposed. The additional $4,000, I want to help them so they can buy food and give them a financial cushion each month. His time is very short and if he lives to December it will be a miracle. I will be in charge of his final expenses because his wife will be devastated by his passing and incapable of handing any of his affairs. I hope you can find it in your heart to help me with this need. My brother is too proud to ask for help.
