Peace Corps Stands by Sal

Donation protected
Ing. Salvador Morales worked with almost 500 Volunteers throughout his 25 years of service as an APCD with Peace Corps in Guatemala. During this period, he directed a series of projects including Agricultural Diversification, Integrated Pest Management, Food Security and Agricultural Marketing. He supported Volunteers in the development of various agricultural and marketing manuals published by Peace Corps and other institutions. And in his very limited free time, Sal served as a pioneer in bringing improved Rambutan and Noni seeds into Guatemala; a project his family now leads, continuing to transform and market Rambutan and Noni in the national and international communities.

Shortly after retiring from his 25 years of service with Peace Corps in Guatemala  Sal suffered a serious fall that has left him with serious physical damage. He is now unable to communicate and requires physical therapy as well as medication to control seizures.  For the past 5 years his family has been able to cover the expensive costs for his treatment with the help of their insurance plan; however, he has now been reached the maximum limit on that coverage. To ensure that Sal is able to continue this life maintaining treatment his family needs help.

Sal gave so much of himself to support Volunteers and the communities of Guatemala for 25+ years. It is now time for us, the Peace Corps family, to stand by Sal. Please donate what you feel you can to support his family in giving Sal the care he deserves.

This campaign will end on October 31st.
