Funeral of Richard Rogers

Donation protected
Earlier this year my brother Richard was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. After a short period of treatment he was classed as being in remission. On the 15th of November Richard was admitted to A&E with a suspected stroke. A few days later after a series of tests it became apparent he had developed a primary cerebral lymphoma (brain tumour). On further investigation it was discovered that Richard had three other tumours. This was a real shock to the family as he had already fought the battle and we all believed he had won. Whilst in hospital receiving treatment Richard unfortunately developed a serious infection that rapidly developed into sepsis. After 24 hours in ICU Richard's organs finally succumbed to the infection that had taken hold. We said goodbye to Richard at 4am on Wednesday the 4th of December.

Anyone who knew Richard would tell you that he was a larger than life character. He maintained his sense of humour right until the end. Whilst in the care of the hospital he kept the nurses on their toes and making them laugh. Richard's kind and endearing nature remained in his final days. Shortly before his passing he was able to celebrate his 42nd birthday in the presence of family, friends and the nursing staff on the Turner Ward. As a family that day will remain in our memories with both fondness and sadness.

Richard has left not just a void in the people that knew him but he also leaves behind a loving partner of 20 years and three amazing children. Richard was a doting father and lived for his children, working tirelessly to provide for his family right to the end.

As a family we would like to give Richard the send off that he deserves and is most certainly worthy of. He was a kind and gentle man with a good set of values and he deserves nothing less than the best.

We as a family would be grateful for your donations towards the cost of Richard's funeral so that a great man can have a service that he is truly worthy of.

Thank you in advance from all of Richard's family. We appreciate the help in not only giving him a good send off but also to celebrate the life of one of this worlds best partner, father, brother and friend.
