<div>The onset of the new Trump administration has heralded unprecedented attacks on a flourishing organized labor movement, threatening to set back the incredible strides made in recent years. These attacks highlight the need for action oriented tactics as the administration continues to degrade the legal channels once provided by the National Labor Relations Board.

<div>Since its inception in 1905, the IWW has championed the current of radical, direct action-oriented organizing, which remains important now more than ever to keep the labor movement pushing forward in these uncertain times. From the first-of-their kind campaigns of the Burgerville Workers Union and Donut Workers Union, to our latest campaigns with the Fried Egg Workers Union and Peet’s Workers Union, the Portland IWW’s primary goal remains fully supporting all of our shop floor organizing campaigns so they can achieve not just a fair day’s pay, but true industrial democracy and the respect they deserve.
