A Wales/ Africa collaboration for permaculture education in Uganda in May 2018

Education to deal with climate change is a huge issue, especially for the already marginalised farmers in East Africa. Subsistence farming is rarely a focus for investment or training, yet it is the path to food security.
It costs £250 to train a farmer to become a permacutlure teacher.

120 hours of tuition and material support to create and empower teachers and community leaders!

We think this is the most effective way to create long term and lasting change where it is most needed.

+ Forest farming and regenerative grazing
+ Composting, biochar, biogas and bio-energy
+ Permaculture and enterprise
+ Permaculture eduation for schools and curriculum development

Sector39, together with their Ugandan partners  are teaching and demonstrating powerful strategies for climate change mitigation and adaption.

Here is one of the workshops from 2017 course

Permaculture education has so much to offer to add to the diversity, resilience and innovation of the rural poor.
East African farmers have the drive, the focus and the potential to be significant clamate change adaption and mitigation engineers with co-ordiantion and training.

We have two completed courses to prove it and numberous testimonies from past students.

We want to raise the bar this time with a bigger and more inclusive course at Sabina School Uganda in May next year. This will be followed by East Africa's first permaculture conference or convergence .

We are training the trainers and leaders who will be on the front line facing the challenges of ecological and economic disruption of climate change and poverty.

By supporting our campaign you will be helping us reach some extremely vulnerable and otherwise excluded people.
