Hi.  My name is Mariah Mattox.  My family and I recently were informed that my brother, Stephen J. Mattox, Jr., has a heart condition – Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM).  He is 16 years old.  He blacked out on Thursday, November 16th and was taken to a pediatric department to be checked out.  They weren’t able to give a definitive answer as to the cause.  Upon returning home, within a couple of hours we had to rush him to the emergency room.  It was there where several tests were ran and it was discovered that he has a heart issue.  He was transported to the ER in Roanoke, VA where more tests were done and he was admitted to the hospital.  JJ, as we call him, remained inpatient until Sunday afternoon.  He was sent home with a heart monitor for at least 30 days.  Well, Monday night we found ourselves back at the emergency room.  He was dizzy, short of breath, and slightly disoriented.  He remained in the emergency room overnight and is headed to Wake Forest University this morning…November 21, 2017. 

My family does not try to ask of others or misuse anyone, but this time we desperately need some help!  With the several trips to the emergency rooms, hospital stays, my parents having to take time off from work, the holidays fast approaching, and whatever else is to come, we are asking for donations to help with the bills.  If you would be so kind to donate to my GoFundMe account it would be greatly appreciated.  No amount is too small.  Thank you all in advance for your donations and your prayers.
