In Nepal, the second wave of Covid-19 cases are skyrocketing and hospitals are overwhelmed by a large number of coronavirus cases. Nepal is now reporting about 20 daily Covid-19 cases per 100,000 people - about the same number as India was reporting two weeks ago. About 44% of Nepal's Covid tests have come back positive in the last few weeks. The virus' rapid spread has raised fears Nepal is teetering on the brink of a crisis just as devastating as India's - if not worse. The Covid positivity rate is at 44%, one of the highest in the world, and cases have surged by 1,200% in recent weeks. Nepal now has a higher per capita mortality rate than neighbouring India. The world is watching India going through the second wave of coronavirus and people across the world have been helping India which is great. But Nepal too is facing a real challenge. Nepal has surpassed India’s per capita death rate and mortality rates continue to spike.
Nepal has a fragile health system, with fewer doctors and health workers and a lower vaccination rate than other countries. And most importantly the government is so hopeless that are fighting for power-sharing. The situations are worsening day by day and it is going out of control. The situation in Nepal is so dire and miserable. Nepal really needs your help.

Nepal is in the midst of a humanitarian crisis. A disastrous surge in the second wave of COVID-19 cases has overwhelmed Nepal's healthcare system. Hospitals are overcrowded and patients are being treated in passages and staircases. Hospitals are being forced to turn patients away as they experience a shortage of beds, medical oxygen, medication, and more, due to which many lives have been lost and many lives are seeking aid.
Who benefits from your donation?
The funds will be used on coronavirus relief work across Nepal, mostly rural areas with the help of local NGOs and community leaders. We will notify donors by posting updates on the use and expenditure of the funds with as much transparency as possible. Funds will be used to provide beds, ventilators, ambulance service, and oxygens to the patients who are in need as well as basic equipment and PPE to the frontline workers.
