Sansar

Sansar means 'Earth' in Nepalese. Our aim is to bring a community driven and sustainable solution to tackle urban pollution and poverty in the impoverish areas of Kathmandu, Nepal.
There are currently 4.7 billion plastic bags being used daily in Kathmandu, Nepal.
Urban pollution has caused severe health issues and environmental hazards, especially in the slum areas of Kathmandu.
Such vulnerable communities face inadequate access to clean water and unsanitary environment due to the toxic chemicals produced by urban waste.
Our mission is to bring a community driven solution in tackling both urban pollution and urban poverty
Rice and plant-based materials are widely sourced in Nepal
Every pound raised from our locally sourced merchandise reduces urban pollution whilst empowering the local community
By collaborating with local waste management companies, rice sellers and local manufactures, we exchange urban waste collected by the local community with free rice.
Urban waste for free rice
We aim to reduce food poverty through this project since the monthly expenses towards rice accounts for more than a quarter of the average monthly income in these slum areas
Rice will be distributed with rice bags made of recycled paper which serves as an environmentally friendly alternative used by the current plastic rice bags
With your support and help, we can tackle both urban pollution and urban poverty in Nepal and beyond!
Any small contribution can bring a huge impact to the community and most importantly, to our environment.
**The donation collected will go directly towards the project **
