£1800 - Everyone deserves a voice ❤

This mission aims to support children who cannot for what ever reason use their voice to speak for themselves. Everyone deserves a voice, to have a choice, and be heard. This is our way of helping, raising awareness and some much needed love for the non-verbal community.
We got our device 3 years ago. For the first time Zayzay had the opportunity to speak in many ways it gave him the voice he had yet to develop for himself. It has the whole dictionary loaded into it, pictures with the word being described, a camera to photograph anything and everything of relevance to the child. These devices with support package are not cheap, £1800 with little to no change. The available funds from charities is severely limited in comparrison to the level of need across the Autistc spectrum. Take it from a parent who can now speak to their child in ways I could never before, they are worth every penny.
ZayZays Way is inspired by an amazing young boy who at the age of 3 was diagnosed with Severe Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), alongside Global Learning Development Delay. Despite the odds being stacked against him, through consistent support and access to communcation aids for development, now in 2020 age 7 he will some days chat your socks off, he has found his voice and he loves it Whether this be his own voice, his communication device, or talking keyboard toy he finds a way to be heard.
This boy, our ZayZay is my son. When I heard "I love you too" for the first time from my child I was told would never speak, the elation as a mother I felt really was to much to be put into words. Ineffable really. His brother D, once said to me "I love how he can speak, now I know he really loves me because he tells me so, even using his teddy he says it so I really do know". For me that's where this mission began because D was right, there were so many ways ZayZay communicated his needs, even without his voice, and so many ways we took our ability to talk for granted because we can so freely communicate this way.
As part of the non-verbal community our family are well aware of the challenges which may occur when your child cannot vocalise their needs. We still struggle at times but we work through. What works for us might not work for another, though what didn't work for us might be just what someone needs, so we are sharing our mission with you. We adapt, We do things Zayzays Way, and it works ❤
We love our life and we wouldn't change it. We like helping others, we are C&D and "ZayZays Way" is our mission ❤ Our ZayZay found his voice, let's hope our mission helps another child find theirs. All donations will be collected and distributed to families as described above.
ZayZays Way will work directly with specialist education schools, services, community hubs and directly with families themselves in order to ensure every item purchased, go to as many children as possible, who will benefit from having additional communication aids in their every day lives, giving them a voice of their own.
ZayZays Way is a family non-profit project designed to support the needs of those from the non-verbal community and their families. We have a collection of bespoke products available to order, designed and created by members of the community in order to raise funds to support our mission.
