Hurricane Maria hit the island of Puerto Rico as a category 5 cyclone leaving our island destroyed and thousands without a home.
One of its victims being this family of 5. Joel Olmeda de Jesus and Nihurka Maldonado have been a hybrid family for 12 years with 3 children who depend on them. Nihurka works as a security officer while going to school to become a pharmacy technician. Her husband is a maintenance technician. She depends on her thyroid medicine, two of their daughters have asthma.
They are now living on someone else's home until they receive assistance 3 in one room two in another. We wante to thank God first for keeping them alive through this dissaster and second ask you for your help rebuilding what they called a home. Your donations will go to a hardworking Christian family who believes in keeping children safe and healthy.
My name is Ivelisse Escribano, I'm Nihurkas cousin and live in Dallas TX. I would like to help her and her family out in this difficult times but the truth is I can't do much without your help. Another 2 family members lost their homes due to this incident. The destruction due to this storm is massive and I'm exhorting anyone who reads this post to help out however you can. Every dollar counts! The funds will be used to restore her belongings. She needs clothing, food, medicine, house goods, water, bedroom furniture, living room furniture, a computer etc etc. I have to take the funds and buy and ship or transfer them to her account since there is no electricity and plenty of devastation leaving banks inaccesible. In this case, I will keep on posting what the money is being used for and how we try to rebuild this family from ground up.
