My step-father passed away when I was 15 from bone marrow cancer. Anthony Nolan was our last hope and found a donor for him after we all had given up hope. Unfortunately, the prior chemotherapy procedure caused him to pass away as he was too weak but, the effort and support Anthony Nolan gave my mum was priceless.

They run a registry for people who have donated bone marrow and match it up within their database to see whether they have any matches as bone marrow is so unique. It has to be over 95% match for the patient to have a chance of survival.
