The last little over a week has been so difficult for myself and my family as we had to say good bye to the glue to our family, our father .I have been sitting in front of my computer for 2 days on and off trying to find not only the strength but the words for this fundraiser/tribute. so I guess I can start by telling you about my amazing father and his rough path of medical problems that took his life.
Daniel George Revette was born October 15th, 1959 in the city of Syracuse NY, to George and Mary Revette . My father was a sweet baby boy that adored his little sister Mari-Jo , Dan told us kids so many stories of his youth his teenage years were interesting to say the least , he loved his family with all his heart. Summers were always awesome as he did everything with us and the neighborhood kids , some of the activities were :football, swimming in lakes basically anywhere he could find a watering hole that had easy access our favorite as kids was the boat launch , our favorite activity was a game we used to play with  all the  neighborhood kids , at night was Manhunt , and just so much more. Dans laugh was so contagious, no matter what we were doing he made it amazing . He taught us so many life lessons and taught us to do so much on our own like driving , changing oil in the car, anything to do with sports as we got older things started to change which brings me to the hard part of his story .
My father had three children myself (Kayla 30), Kevin(28) and Kyle(28), as I said above my father was a very loving , funny and a huge part of our lives , things started to change as my fathers health was slowly going down hill. When Dan was around 40 he was diagnosed with high blood pressure and high cholesterol  which runs heavy on his side of the family along with heart disease . When he was in his late 40s he had his first stroke which was very devastating to us he was taken to the hospital where he had a stent put in because he had a significant blockage. When he came home from hospital he wasn't the same , he couldn't move like he did, he had problems walking , lifting ,and breathing. He from there developed sleep apnea.as years went on it only got worse and so did his mental health , this broke our hearts as this wasn't or dad he became very stubborn and it was hit or miss if he took his medicine , he then had yet another stroke and it took myself and  David(now husband), Kevin ,Kyle to get him to go to hospital .He was in rough shape and had to have more stents put in he then became even more difficult to help and his mental state went even more down hill he developed anxieties and anger I cannot tell you how devastating this was to the family as we watched him change so fast before our eyes . The life events that followed afterwards took even more of a tole on his heart. Dans father had passed away due to Alzheimer's/Dementia and he didn't visit much due to his health and his anxieties he was always upset about not visiting more and being there more to help and it hurt him tremendously . As the years followed he was diagnosed with Diabetes ,he then started to drift away and again start to not take care of himself my mother and wife (Tina) worked a full time job as a Pharmacy Tech. and tried the best she could but Dans everyday life style worsened as he couldn't do simple tasks and started to hide how bad his health was really getting .
The summer of 2019 I rushed my father to the hospital as I started to smell a foul smell and checked him over to find that his toes /feet were in rough shape . He needed to have emergency surgery as he had Gangrene decomposition on both feet ,they had to take both big toes and some of his arch of his left foot. While healing post surgery he had a heart attack where they then did another emergency surgery and put more stents in he had several blockages that were 75 % blocked he now has had a total of 9 stents but the hardest was still to come and would hit us so hard.
The Coronavirus, a new world pandemic that has hit the United States so many lives have been taken one of the roughest things we had to deal with as we have to all be apart , Daniel had three smart , beautiful grandchildren Breayla(3) Rolland(18 months) and Aiden(15 months) he absolutely loved his grandchildren so being away from them was very had we had curb side visits but it wasn't the same as the kids just don't understand at this age.  May 16th 2020 , My husband and I decided to have my father over for a small cookout as he loved cheeseburgers , he had a great time with his two of the three grandbabies the day was full of fun and we ended it with that night with a fire followed by smores and my fathers smores which consisted of gram cracker and chocolate , we said our I love you's and dad went home.
May 19th, 2020 , My brother Kevin called me while driving saying that dad was shaking he didn't know what to do he was picking me up to help dad to the hospital as I am the only person he really listened to (I live down the street). When I arrived at the house my loving sweet father was lying lifeless facedown on the floor I immediately told my brother to call 911 , I then started to perform CPR . my father awoke for a very split second to look at me and then he lost consciousness once again . the paramedics arrived took my father to the hospital as I stabilized him enough to get him a fighting chance because of the coronavirus and the precautions that the hospitals have to take we were not able to be there with him.
Later that evening we received a devastating phone call my father had a brain scan and it showed no brain activity , my mother had to make hardest decision of her life , we had to let my father go and pull the life support off him. We were aloud to come up in twos to say our goodbyes I myself took along time in that room because I didn't want to believe that this was the last time I would see him . I loved my father so much he was my best friend how would I ever go on with out him and at such a young age of only 60 he had so much more life and this brings me to the end of my why my family and I are here making a fundraiser/campaign to raise money to cover the rest of my fathers funeral costs. The total cost that is needed is $3,750 I will also attach his obituary and photos and a video he was loved so much by friend sand family this would help us out so much as this was very unexpected for our family and it is very difficult for us to ask for donations but it will give us peace of mind and we would be very appreciative of your kindness and helpfulness. Thank You all in advance.
