My name is Richard Onowoavomagbero Ogoro and I live in Liverpool, England. I was diagnosed with stage 5 kidney failure in October 2023 and since then, have been receiving three (3) dialysis treatments a week for four (4) hours each time while waiting to find a suitable kidney donor. Due to my illness and the long, draining treatments, I had to give up my job driving the 82 route for Arriva buses. I am a Nigerian national resident in the UK on a 10 year Family Visa which is due for renewal on March 20, 2025. The total cost of the Visa application including the NHS surcharge is £4,200 with a further £800 in legal fees bringing the total cost to £5000. Given my illness, I can only work very limited hours driving an Uber cab to cover my survival expenses. My immigration status prevents me from claiming state benefits and there is no way I can meet the Visa costs on my own. I need to raise funds urgently so I can continue my dialysis treatments pending on how soon i can get on the Transplant waiting list. I also have an 11year old son who is terrified of losing me and it is all I can do to hold myself together in front of him.
