Paxton's Fight
Donation protected
Our very dear friend Leslie and her loving family are experiencing the unthinkable. Their youngest son, Paxton; baby brother to Mallory and Noah, has been diagnosed with childhood cancer. His treatment will be extensive and long. The Browning’s will be reduced to a single family income so Leslie can devote all her time and energy to his treatment and recovery and their other two beautiful children. Due to the anticipated financial strain on their family, we are asking for any donations to ease some stress. Feel free to contact the administrators for the Browning’s mailing address for warm wishes, love, and other gift cards if you prefer. We are happy to post periodic updates, or feel free to follow Leslie on Facebook for more information. Here is the story in Leslie's words released yesterday on May 21, 2019:
"Fourteen days ago our little family’s world as we knew it imploded. Time has appeared to have artificially halted while we are struggling to cope with devastating news. Thomas’ and my youngest child, Paxton Charles was diagnosed with a very aggressive type of childhood cancer called embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma. I took him into emergency at our local Children’s hospital for what I thought was a simple abdominal problem, however it was discovered he has a very large mass extending from just below his diaphragm into his pelvis. His symptoms appeared suddenly within a span of just a few days. We were admitted immediately to Children’s hospital, and are hoping to be discharged home sometime within the next week. He has already been through several small surgeries for diagnostics and treatments so far. His little body is already starting to feel the effects of this wretched disease. His team of caregivers is optimistic he will respond well to treatment, although it has been, and will be, touch-and-go moving forward. Children’s will care for him throughout the extremely long and arduous journey that lies before us. As of now, he started his first round of five different chemotherapy treatments. In a few months we hope he will be cleared for surgical tumor resection once it is small enough to safely remove. After he is resected, then a combination therapy of chemotherapy and radiation treatments will be resumed. His total cancer treatment duration is estimated for a year to a year and a half. Both of our families have been extremely gracious in helping support us in these first tender hours of diagnosis and care. Thomas and I have decided it is best that I stay home to pour all efforts into Paxton’s healing and support our other two children through this next chapter. For those of you who are spiritual, religious, or anywhere in between, we please ask you to send your thoughts, prayers, good vibes, and any other love to our precious little boy and our Browning Brood as a whole. He is strong and brave. Our angel is incredibly and fiercely loved."
Erin Butler, Toni Strepek, and I, Anna Cauley, are organizing this fund raiser in the hopes that we can all come together and help this loving family in their time of need so that they can focus on the health and well being of their children.
