Pax Christi Gods Pantry Drive

Want to join us in making a difference? Pax Christi Catholic Church is raising money to benefit God's Pantry Food Bank, and any donation will help make an impact. Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to all of us.

In Kentucky, 1 in 6 people are unsure about where they’ll get their next meal.  God’s Pantry Food Bank serves 50 counties in Central and Eastern Kentucky in partnership with more than 400 food pantries and meal programs.  The total food distributed in 2019 was 39.7 million pounds with 13.7 million pounds of fresh produce.

Every $1 donated to God’s Pantry Food Bank allows them to gather and distribute enough food for eight meals! How is that possible? It’s simple. There is an abundance of food available to us at no cost, but they need funds to move that food from its location to where it’s most needed. For example, a food wholesaler donates 10,000 pounds of tomatoes to the Food Bank.. While God’s Pantry pays nothing for the product, they must spend $1,000 to transport the tomatoes from their original location to the pantries where they are distributed to clients. Your $1 may allow you to donate 3/4 pound of tomatoes at retail price, but that same $1 allows the Pantry to provide 10 pounds of tomatoes to hungry Kentuckians. They also have bulk purchasing power, stretching every dollar farther.
