Hello, and thank you for taking the time to read this! A furry friend in need will thank you for it later!

My adventure started 24 years ago when I was born into this world to work with animals. I have always wanted to be around them, and one day I knew I would be lucky enough to work with them. Following my dreams, I graduated the University of New Hampshire with an associates in Animal Science, and a bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Technology from Mount Ida College.

While in college at UNH I worked at a local shelter, and I really enjoyed the passionate atmosphere. This pushed me to continue shelter work once I graduated and moved back home. Currently, I work at Newton Animal Hospital, while also volunteering at a shelter called Shultz Guest House.

After seeing most of the shelter animals coming from euthanasia shelters in over-populated areas, it made me want to do something about the issue. I became inspired to help fix where the root of the overpopulation issue begins. Recently, I was fortunate enough to join the Project Samana team in the Dominican Republic. It is a non-profit veterinary group that provides necessary surgical and medical services to the animals of Samana. We also educate animal owners about health, husbandry and care. Fortunatly enough we are allowed to rescue the street dogs and bring them back to the U.S for adoption.

After helping and working with over 189 dogs, cats, and horses, I knew it was just the beginning of my adventure. Samana was so inspiring, witnessing firsthand the difference a group of caring individuals can have on a community. Working with stray street dogs of all conditions hit home the most. Not having the adequate funds and supplies to help these animals breaks my heart.

Both of these all-volunteer non-profit organizations, and the animals benefiting, need and deserve everything that is being donated to them. All the money will be put towards medical support, food, supplies and surgical needs.

I will be travelling to the Dominican in June for my second trip, I would really appreciate any help in raising money towards the project. You may put the donation in your name or in honor of your pet! Everything is appreciated, if you have anything to donate that is not monetary like collars, leashes, supplies, etc., please contact me at [email redacted]. Help me hit my goal before June 2016! From all of the animals, woof meow and thanks!
