PAWS for a CAUSE!
This is a note we received from the Community Crisis Center, Inc. in Reisterstown which discusses the current need for support. Because of handling requirements of food, they are not currently accepting food donations however we can support them with personal care items which will allow them to spend their funding on the food items they need:
"We have seen a dramatic increase, over 400% - in clients since March . We are currently serving as many people in a week as we did in a month pre covid. We now purchase and receive deliveries weekly vs. monthly in order to pack the 300+ households we are serving each week.
We have some very high demand items that unfortunately I don't know how we will continue to be able to purchase and provide in the coming months. A 400% increase has definitely stretched our budget! The items needed most are feminine hygiene items, tampons, pads, adult incontinence items , diapers and poise pads, toilet paper, paper towels. The other items that we cannot seem to buy enough of are infant diapers all sizes including pulls ups. We also distribute handmade/reusable masks to clients, and with approx. 6 mask makers currently donating we run out of masks at every food distribution in the first hour. So with all that being said if you think that you would be able to alter your plans from food to collecting these high demand items would be possible we would certainly appreciate it."
