<div>My name’s Ali and I’m starting this fundraiser to support the small, independent animal charities and rescues across Edinburgh and the Lothians. These are the groups that often go unseen and underfunded.

<div>At home we have three cats, a dog and a very chubby little hamster, all rescues who were given a second chance — and in one cat’s case, a third. So I’ve seen first-hand what these local rescues do and how much love and work goes into helping animals that others have given up on.
</div>

</div>
<div>While the big national charities get most of the attention, the smaller local rescues are the ones working on the ground every day. They take in abandoned pets, feed strays, cover vet bills and give animals a fresh start, usually with very little money and very few resources.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>I want to make a real difference here at home by raising funds that go straight to these smaller organisations. Everything donated will help provide food, shelter and care for animals in our local area.
</div>

</div>
<div>To keep things fair, the money will be shared with the groups that need it most. People will also be able to nominate local charities or rescues they feel deserve support, so no one gets overlooked.
</div>

<div>Even a small donation can make a massive difference to these wee rescues.
